Can Men Use QW Products?

When mom and I first came up with the idea for our skin care line, we considered the name “Alice Marie Beauty.” One day I was using my immaculately groomed male friend as a sounding board for the business idea. He said he liked it, but he shyly asked “can men also use your products?” I replied “You guys have skin right? Of course, I thought the line would be gender neutral.”

We went back to the drawing board on the name and came up with QW Self Care to expand the line to more than just skin care products. We made labels that were more androgynous using crystals. Men surveyed responded better to the prototypes but “can men use your products?” was the number one question asked by guys.

When I was a kid, my grandparents both had the smoothest most airbrushed skin that I’ve ever seen. I also remember them having passionate “debates” over grandaddy using grandma’s Noxzema. Grandaddy never wanted his own because it was for women but he always used hers. I’ve seen other men use their women’s beauty… er pardon me skin care products my entire life. One of my guys excitedly asked me for a sheet mask when he found out I had extra. I roll my eyes at there being a “men” lotion in the store but my boyfriend using my skin care stuff when I am not watching. Off the record, men and women use the same products because they both have skin. Why can’t we be honest and admit we don’t need separate products?

But to welcome the men and let them know they are so handsome and distinctive ;), we created a beard serum just for them. Our Beard Enhancer made especially for softening and growing beards. (Ladies, we can also use this product to regrow and soften our hair and edges but shhhh!)

As for all of our other products and self-care tips, the answer is “YES, men can use them but only if they want to be flyer than they already are.“

Talk to me. Does your significant other or loved one ever use your grooming and skin care products?
