What Does QW Mean?

My little cousin came home with a fly hat one day that had some strange word on it. Please pardon me for not remembering what the word means. It was 20+ years ago and you can get the gist without it.

Mom: What does _____ mean?

Cousin: I don’t know. I just liked the hat.

Mom: So, it could mean “crazy little boy,” and you are wearing it with pride thinking you look good?

Cousin: Blank stare.

Mom: Don’t ever wear something on you and you don’t know what it means.

QW stands for Quarterman Williams. These are the surnames of our family.

Our ancestors were great at mixing things up or finding a tea to fix anything that was going wrong and for that reason they were a big part of our inspiration. My grandfather had a garden where he grew his vegetables. I remembered my grandmothers drinking teas and doing cleanses to heal themselves. To them, self-care was simple, natural, and logical.

Mom and I choose to honor them in the naming of our line. How do you keep your family members memories alive?
