Amplify Your Moisture Routine with Sheet Masks

As you’ll learn over time, I am a natural skeptic who believes most trends are trying to separate me from my coin.

I spent a portion of my career testing technology and know that most products typically need a few iterations and revisions before they reach their fullest potential. Because of this, you won’t find me at the top end of any beauty or technology trend.

So when I saw sheet masks a few years ago, I immediately thought, “this is some bs, and my moisturizing routine is intact. I don’t need this.” However, I was WRONG. I quickly learned that sheet masks are a great way to amplify your skincare routine and keep your skin supple. Let’s review the basics

What are sheet masks?

Sheet masks are face-shaped sheet fabrics soaked in nutrition-packed solution called serum. The sheet is made up of variety of materials including papers, fibers or gel types. These sheet masks are different from facial masks (paste type) that you only need to apply, take off or pat in extra serum instead of washing the paste after applying and putting on other skincare products. Sheet mask is generally used once and it is individually packaged, making them fast, convenient, and easy to use.  Source

Why should you use them?

Because it’s easy, you can do it while watching your favorite show, and it takes only 20 minutes.

How do you use them?

  1. Wash and dry your face.

  2. Open packet

  3. Take out mask

  4. Apply the mask to your face

  5. Rub the excess serum on your neck and chest (optional but not really…who wants a young face and old neck/chest?)

  6. Relax for 20 mins

  7. Remove mask but do not rinse

  8. Continue with the rest of your moisturizing routine

Where can you buy them?

Almost everywhere now it seems. I typically buy the Innisfree ones in bulk from Amazon. However, they are everywhere now. Try a few and see which ones work best for you.

A few of my favorites. Innisfree and Snail Jelly are from Amazon. The repairing one came from TJ Maxx
